Outline:
Communication
In everyday life communication is important, it's how everyone receives and gives information. Communication skills enable individuals to understand others and to be understood themselves. A variety of aspects are important in the context of these skills, such as listening, speaking, observing and empathy
Work Experience
Work experience is time spent in a workplace learning about a job role, a company or a career sector. Work experience is a short period spent in a workplace, to learn what it is like to do that kind of work.
Transferable/Soft Skills
A transferable skill is an ability or expertise which may be used in a variety of roles or occupations. Transferable skills are talents and abilities that can be used in many different jobs and career paths. They can be acquired through employment, school, internships, hobbies, and volunteer experiences.
Self-Advocating
Self-advocacy is recognized as the ability to speak and act on behalf of one's self or a cause. Self-advocacy is an important skill that students use in their youth and throughout life. Self-advocacy skills include being assertive, knowing one's rights, negotiating and speaking up for one's self or a cause.
Workplace Success
Success in the workplace can be measured in several ways, such as climbing the corporate ladder, being respected by peers or achieving a high level of job satisfaction. Regardless of how success at work is determined, achieving it typically requires more than simply showing up and punching a time clock every day.
